Pronounced “cool”, the recent upping of “Cuil” is a phenomenon.

A new search engine, basing results on relevance rather than popularity, it is an interesting fact to note that in the first few days, the load was exceptionally heavy. Statcounter.com reveals it to be one of heaviest traffic loads of all - taking a possible 1 in 1000 searches in the first few days. Moreover, they claim a greater index than any other search engine.

But I am not impressed. The search results seem less correct than the great Google, and the response times high. The pages are heavier, and dialup users may prefer the atom size Google pages. And apparently, I am not the only one: Time thinks so too.

Google is going nowhere. There is a reason Google has become synonymous with search, and Cuil has not the power to do it - yet, at least.
